With our motto "DRIVE GREEN DRIVE FURTHER" we are ready for Shell Eco-Marathon 2012!

CATEGORY AND THE POWER SOURCE

Our car is under the Electric-Mobility category using Hydrogen Fuel Cell as our source of power. We utilize light materials to minimize drag and friction to maximize the mileage of the car. Our objective is to make a fuel efficient car using Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology. The aim of the futuristic prototype is to come up with innovative ideas in the field of fuel efficiency which will revolutionize the auto industry one day.

THE POWER SOURCE

Fuel cell is a device that is used to convert chemical energy to electrical energy. It consumes hydrogen and oxygen-rich air to undergo chemical reaction. Water is the only by-product. Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) is chosen to power up the car because of its low operating temperature and it is found suitable for transportation applications.

The key strengths of fuel cell are:

• ·         Sustainable. Require only hydrogen and oxygen, which are abundantly available.
• ·         Clean. Zero CO₂ emission.
• ·         Efficient. 60 percent of overall energy efficiency is proven in its applications.
